I am traveling the day before thanksgiving. I haven’t been to Kansas for thanksgiving in a few years. My brother who passed away last summer would have turned 28 tomorrow. 28 years ago he was born on thanksgiving and I didn’t want my mom to be without any of her children this thanksgiving so I decided to go. Now I love going to see my family and I love going to Kansas. However since lots of my family has since moved to Wichita well I am spoiled. I get to fly there never direct but get to land and within 5 minutes could be at a number of family members homes. However when we go back to where everyone is from well that trip from start to finish it is a 14 hour process. Two flights, layovers, and then a 4.5 hour drive when you get to Wichita. I have been all over the country the last 6 weeks. I just got back from VA beach yesterday around 12:30 am worked the last day and a half and flew this afternoon. So anyway I was dreading this flight. Dreading the whole process. My girl Christina and her little one Miss Molly drove me to the airport which was super kind of them and when I checked in I got to upgrade to first class. Let’s just say I forgot how fabulous first class is. Will I ever be able to fly coach again? Probably but not without dreaming of the luxury and space that is first class.
So every single thing from early boarding to spacious seats, free cocktails, warm nuts, dinner, dessert, well really everything is fabulous. Oh and there was Wifi. Wifi. So fabulous. So anyway I of course took pictures. They aren’t the best quality as the lighting was low and I used my iPhone sans flash as not to bother the passengers around me.
I have one more flight full of first class luxury and then I am meeting my cousin Jaimie in Wichita. Where we will drive back to where our family is from. I still have about 7 more hours in my journey. We are halfway there and I have a cup of Dunkin Donuts so really life couldn’t be better.
