I am in Dallas today to cheer my mom on while she walks in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day.
Tomorrow she will wake up at 6 am and walk 20 more miles. Then on Sunday she will walk 20 more for a total of 60 miles in 3 days. She is 61 years young and amazing! She has been cancer free for 14 months. In June of 2009 she had a double mastectomy and in September 2009 a full reconstruction. She has walked every year for 6 years only taking last year off because she was battling cancer. She walks every year for her mother and her sister who lost their battles with Breast Cancer at 49 and 40 years old. I am thankful my mom is a survivor. I am thankful she is here and that she is healthy. She is an inspiration to everyone that has ever met her and I am truly lucky to have her be my mom.
